About 20 NM between yesterday and today – decent though not stellar. Today started in whiteout but with nice hard snow. As the day went on, the sun came out and made the snow really soft once again.
Yesterday at the end of the day I noticed that the toes on my right foot were numb. They were also looking waxy – a sign of frostbite. I broke out an emergency chemical hand warmer and stuck it in my down bootie with my foot. It soon came back to life. Not sure what happened since it wasn’t that cold. I think my sock was probably wet when I put it on, leading to a prolonged chill. Need to be careful about drying my socks at night!
Anyway, gradually making my way south. Hard to believe it’s Christmas week!
